Good afternoon (which is currently bright and sunny, with plenty of snow-melting, way in advance of spring).
My name is Mélodie Rivers, I'm born in Québec, Canada, and I'm primarily a writer, but with some dabbling in photomanipulation, traditional drawing, and photography.
I co-founded this project (Elysian Mark C.A.G.) with my awesome friend BrankaArts, when I realized that people I knew well were stricken by poverty in conditions that made them unfit to be helped by other charity organizations and governmental grants. And seeing how even organisations themselves could not even if they wished to, via lacking the sufficient governmental grants (our local organisation received a mere 25,000$ after a meeting with high-ranking officials, CEOs, public figures, and ministers), I sought for a solution.
And the solution is quite simple: uniting artists and community together. Indeed, we as artists carry a greater power than any ministers or officials out there: we carry the power of stories. Stories of hope, of joy, of peace, of compassion and kindness. By all our means, writing, drawing, painting, creating, we create hope for others. And such, I believed it was within my power and my duty to bring those stories to life, to concretize the hopes that I write down.
For me, this is how I created this project. I have the power to give hope on paper; but now, I have the power and responsibility to give that hope to the fellow man and woman that surrounds me. And this is an honour beyond anything else. I hope I succeed; not as a pride, but as a fulfillment of a sacred oath: that any being should help another being, without discrimination.
Other than that, well, I'm primarily a writer, as stated above. I have finished a 10-years old novel, although I still have far to go in terms of making it perfect for sale. I also have 30-ish stories that needs serious re-editing in my new vision of art, which is that it should bring joy and a smile on my readers' face, and days.
I'm also a proud citizen (and interim Press Secretary) of a new, bold, ambitious endeavour in my local region: what has now become the Sovereign State of Kebec:
In a world where governments have forgotten what their duty toward humanity and the environment was, Kebec seeks to return all true, undeniable rights to human beings, and to protect Nature against overwhelming greed and profit.
This is another great endeavour that I hold very close to my heart, and will do my utmost to bring a greater awareness to.
I strongly believe, against all the latest Doomsday craze and panic, that the years ahead are quite, on the contrary, leading to a brighter, kinder, future. I truly believe that, and will always and forever dedicate my life and my art toward this future that is no longer a naive hopeful dream, but a reality.
To onward and forward, and I look forward to see where this beautiful project will lead to! Thank you all for joining me on this journey; it is truly an honour.
